Country close to the City is an apt description of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, which retains its small-town feel even with the growth coming to this area of York Region. Shopping is convenient, as are services (health/fitness/etc.) and parks, including the town's recently expanded library and swim centre. A traditional downtown main street includes numerous restaurants, galleries and retail shops, and a number of annual events take place here as well. Numerous health-care providers complement Markham-Stouffville Hospital which is a short drive south. Close to the GTA with easy access via the 404 and 407 and its own Go Station, Stouffville is an attractive and peaceful place to call home. Maclean's Magazine in 2019 ranked Stouffville as Canada's 12th best community in which to retire!
